Cabinet is progressing along nicely.  If the rain holds off for the next week or so it should be well on track to completion.

Headbox and cabinet has been sanded and general repairs being made.  Overall it was in good shape, couple of small dings / tags and only a couple of spots of minor delamination.

These have been repaired and sanded.  Primer is due to go on this weekend.  I believe the paint has been matched (as close as possible) so again progressing well   $#$

More progress!

My poor spraypainter has already spent around 15 hours to get it to this point!   I'm very very happy with the job thus far.

More.

He's done a fantastic job of the headbox.  It needed a lot of work...

Looking great Marty.

Are you using acrylic paints or enamels ?

Good question!

I am not 100% sure (mate who's doing it)...Its all automotive paint and will be cleared.  I will double check when I speak with him.

It would be acrylic then. My brother works in paint supplying the auto industry. He put me onto some products that have been fantastic for pinball, particularly the paints themselves - you don't realise what a difference the paint makes when it's decent quality when it comes to sanding etc.

It will be.  He has done a couple of small jobs for me and is starting to take an interest in pins!  Its hard to make out in the photos, but every corner has been done and it will look brand new.
I emailed him a link to High End Pins and he spent a few hours looking at one of Christopher's cab restos so he is using that as a template.  If it comes out anywhere near that I'll be happy.

Could be a nice little "side venture" for him ?

I've talked to him about it.  Problem is he is a perfectionist.  Will have spent (estimation) around 25 hours on cab when finished.  My headbox was bad, but the rest was pretty good.

It would be difficult to charge for that...unless high end collector on a Fathom, Spirit, Kiss etc...

I've tried to talk to him about clearing playfields but no go on that as yet...

1st stencil layer goes down next weekend so fingers crossed it goes well!

At this stage my painter is holding off clearing in between coats too.
