Rottendog 327
« on: December 27, 2019, 06:11:40 PM »
My first post in ages,,,,
I am running a Rottendog 327 in a 1980 Black Knight. I have the original cpu and driver board but the cpu has issue's and I am using the Rottendog 327 temporarily till my cpu is repaired.
My question is I have speach issues when running the Rottendog board but the game plays normally and all the sounds are there just problems with speach. Have tested the sound board and speach board but no problems. Has anyone had this problem.
Thanks
Pinpal

Sounds like a cable issue - But have you contacted Rottendog Support to see if it is a known issue ? That's what I would be doing to start off.

As I understand it, that board has issues with running Black Knight software. Rottendog have since removed support for all System 7 games.

Interesting. I know of a few of these combo boards in Black Knights running fine.

If memory serves me right, version 3 boards (MPU327-3) onwards have switch matrix problems with Black Knight where the game doesn't register and kick out the second ball in play. Not sure what version the sound issues started, could have been version 3 or version 2, don't quote me on it.
From another forum:
"Please note as of 1/5/2018 System 7 games (including Black Knight) are no longer supported, Rottendog is only supporting games System 3 through System 6. A parts change due to availability created a problem making it unusable in most System 7 games, it supposedly works in some, and Rottendog cannot find a solution."
