Talking with Stern this morning , They have informed me that AMD will distribute the LE LOTR here in OZ  .
There is a 99.5% chance that the game will be made , all aspects for the relaunch are positive at this stage ,production will be in the Fall .
AMD still don't have pricing but they are planning to email pinball enthusiast with updates and information .
So interested parties should contact AMD and pass on there email address for future information as it comes in .

Here's the plan;
Mirror Glass Back Glass / Gold Treatment on Glass
Several Extra Coats of Clearcoat on the Playfield
Playfield Signed by Gary Stern and possibly someone else
Signed Certificate - GS
Limited Edition Plaque
I'm not into numbering as there will be a big fight
No Playfield Toys - I'm sure you guys can figure it out

Maybe if we all rally together and do what Jack has done ,put a proposal to Gary that if a pre-order of 300 units is presented to him would he consider this pin ?
Licensing would be another issue also .

I've just been informed by the WA Stern agent Joe Tripoli of the deal to secure your LOTR Gold:

* Machine is Australian compliance (plug & play)
* Full 6 month manufacturer warranty
* Price is AUD$8,450.00 incl GST plus freight ex Sydney

Stern's conditions to secure your order are:

* AUD$2,500.00 deposit with order placed by Tues 11th August 2009
* Balance payable prior to dispatch ex Chicago (October 2009)

Machine features are as per Ant68's last post with confirmation that it will be signed by Gary Stern himself and possibly by George Gomez (designer) The backglass will be screened with gold mirroring.

Stern pinball will make a limited run of these in October which will be available from AMD and  agents latest end October.

We are in the process of ordering and will publish our price asap.

Just to let you know some details, Gary Stern and the designer George Gomez will personally sign each game.The 13 little toys that decorate the playfield are not available and therefore will not be on the pinball.It will be dearer than normal – we are working on the price now and will finalise and advise asap.A 50% deposit will apply with order.Normal 6 months warranty on all major electronic components will apply.The backglass will be silk screened onto the glass and finished with gold mirroring.

Seems like the shaker motor is now an option 
 JUST IN 8/28/09:  This version of LORD OF THE RINGS will feature a MIRRORED BACKGLASS with gold tint, GOLD hardware including the legs, crossbar, side rails and hinges, it will be wired for an OPTIONAL SHAKER MOTOR, will be signed by GARY STERN and the Designer, GEORGE GOMEZ and will have at least 2 extra coats of clearcoat on the playfield!
