Introduce myself & my collection.
« on: July 24, 2009, 04:06:59 PM »
hello, I have been collecting for about 12 months and have the following machines and I am adding all the time.
I decided to jump into the hobby at 100 mile an hour cause the economy has made it easy to pick up alot of great machines at very good prices.
Some at half price or less.I hope i will stop when the total gets to about 30 ish..or my wife will divorce me.

I have dealt with some really nice people like Mark C, Tony Turner, Kenny Priest and Rob from Bikecity. All have been true professionals and always helpful n friendly.I have also ran into a few nobs along the way but have found the pinball community warm and welcoming. I have been lucky to see some great collections in the last 12 months and am loving this hobby.I am Brisbane based.I recently flew to Aadelaide n met some great collectors n picked up a real good Popeye.
My machines are listed below and are all in excellent condition.

Funny you mention Super. I thought about it a while ago. I'm sure you could argue pinball machines are an investment.

Did someone say ATO (no swearing pls !!LOL).........I run my own business and have spent every spare cent for the past 9 months on machines.
My wife is having a baby in about 4-5 months so i consider i get in now before the wife wants all the money for baby stuff.
The first machine i bought was Star Trek Next Gen (being a star-trek fan) and the fellow who was selling the machine said something that really stuck in my head. His quote was
"firstly, pinball machines look great, secondly they are fun to play, thirdly they go up in value, and fourthly, its a hobby that newcomers and experienced people just love and u can always get ya money back plus more"....(wise man was jason from ozpinball-nice guy)
It didnt take me long to see the light. :D ^^^

Wow, all that in 12 months!

And what an eclectic collection. Some wanted titles in that lot.

By the way, you need a slogan along the lines of 'Playing Popeye and proud'.

Best thing about pinball is when new mates (pinballers) come over and play the machines or vice a versa.
I recently went to Adelaide and visited two locals. Both collectors had great machines. One had the best monsterbash, pub champ, scared stiff, junkyard, twilight and a few others that were in MINT MINT MINT condition. I know my eyes lit up when i walked in to his cave of treasures.

The other bloke had a Circus Voltaire that was that good it would make a grown man cry with jelousy...and his monsterbash....i said "wheres the new box it just came out of".....thats what makes this hobby so great....seeing other guys/gals with sweet machines....and seeing them smile when u walk in and say "you bastard"...."I want it"....and they say..."NOOOOPPPPP...not for sale....where will I find one like that again"...!!!!...you then frown and say "good question"....... !!! "but lets play a few games....and grab a cold beer".............yes, a great hobby.
