Stencilling complete..

This was a time consuming process as my vinyl cutter has lost its registration.... it cuts the correct shapes but they are not in the places they should be. I THOUGHT i had this issue sorted but its not.. result was i had to completely repaint the header and apply shapes by hand.
Need to put a protective top layer on, buts its been pissing with rain for 3 days now... so im waiting... and waiting...

Oh theres a ton of work already put into this machine a ton still to do..

I actually managed to get the protective top coat onto the cabinet today by banning my wife from putting the car into the garage so its out of the rain and spraying it. I use a mix of polyurathane... this is linseed based so will yellow over time just like the original coating, but its readily available, easy to use and will NOT react with any other paints. Mix i use to get an original finish is 80% gloss with 20% low sheen, thin back with turps and apply with a gun. I used  a whole tin of 500ml Gloss in total. Coating is now touch dry so ive already put the newly polished parts back into the header.
Cabinet and header look VERY SWEET indeed!!!

Interesting choice of topcoat. That's one step of the process I did not do with my Jacks Open. I will follow your process for the next two GTB cabinets. Looking great BTW !

And so the reasemble begins... so much rust! And so many parts have lost their finish, but it all gets treated and polished and then put back together. I worked out today that i took this game apart approx 4 years ago. The parts have been sitting in a large tool box for all that time... to be honest it all looked like a nightmare... but i had bagged all screws and labelled them.. "ball push up"... "PF rest".."PF lock bar" etc... all screws went through the tumbler a few years ago... quick buff up on the bench buffer and away we go... all looks very tidy, very clean and so far not one screw missing!

WHO SAYS YOU CANT POLISH A TURD???

PBR are out of stock on doors, coin plates & lockdowns.. i WAS going to buy new, but 2 days of sanding back, then sanding finer, then finer again.. then cutting, then polishing have come up trumps.

And after all that work, under all that crap i found this little gem which is so nice and seals the deal to keep as PBR only have American coin plates.. this predecimal number i like very much... was quite a suprise to find it.

That is cool, I guess sixpence and 10c are similar in size but it has been a while since I saw a sixpence?

From memory feeding the 6d back then they were the  same size as 5c, a shilling 10c

Yes... sixpence very small like a 5C coin... a shilling ( 5 pence)  around the size of a 10C piece.... 2 shillings ( equivalent of 10 new pence) around the size of a 20C coin... the coin slot has been cut out to accomodate a larger coin, but its been done well so looks OK
