HELP?! bally 6803 power module on ze fritz?!

Have finally finished the rebuild of my beloved eight ball champ and yesterday dropped the playfield back in. hooked everything back up, crossed my fingers and... uh oh.



playfield lights up. cpu boots and squalk & talk squalks and talks but backboard is dead as a hammer.



Am not getting anything from j6 from the 6803 power module. checked fuses and found them ok. found two resistors cooked and after replacing and powerup, it goes right ahead and cooks 'm again. No 190v on the testpoint.



two things I can do from here. pinrepair tells me i need to rebuild the high voltage circuitry but.. the backglass light dont work either?



Would i be better off trying to find a replacement? how to make sure it doesnt cook that one too?



the only thing that lights up on bootup is the "match" light and thats it..



Any input would be greatly appreciated..

So  no displays or GI to the headbox, but MPU boots and GI to the playfield ?

If the resistors are burning out there must be a short either on the board or wiring. Which circuit are the resistors connected to? Do you have a photo of the affected parts? I would double check the fuse ratings as they should normally be blowing if something if drawing too much current.

The HV circuit and the backbox lighting are 2 separate circuits so there is probably more than one fault. I would try repairing the board and then checking the voltages on the boards without any connectors attached first. You would need to rule out/fix any problems with the boards before connecting them to the machine.

I would be glad to help out with the boards if you need a hand.
