Machine locations.
« on: August 04, 2009, 06:20:44 PM »
Yo pinheads....
I am wondering if there is some sort of list out there that will
tell me what pinball machines are in pubs & where the pubs are at?
My name is Paul aka KAZ
Only had a look on here a couple of times before now but think its great.
I have Demolition Man @ home that i won & may be able to
squeeze another in my small unit if i try lol.
I go to about 7 different pubs to play but its always good to know of a few more.
I live in the Chippendale/Newtown area.
Any help is welcome.
Cheers
KAZ

I remember you now, thanks for introducing yourself Paul.  You pose a really good question; the last time I saw a machine in Sydney was at Darling Harbour Bowling Lanes (top floor of Harbourside), it was a POTC and it was out of order.  I welcome anyone else in Sydney who has seen a pin somewhere.

Nowadays, I think the only place you'll be able to play a pin is at someone's meet (especially if you actually want to play one that is maintained.)

Welcome aboard :)

These days, you are better up attending a "meet" that other collectors and enthusiast host. Plenty of them happening - especially in NSW !

Good call, Nino - it is usually a lot cheaper, too. Or at least you get to spend your money on beer and the pinball is free.

The other thing to note is that the dealers are usually happy for you to play their machines any time you drop in. (At least, the two main ones I know are.)

Still, a list of sited pins could be useful if you are looking to get a feel for a particular title and there is no meet coming up for a while, and no local dealers have one.

%)% Paul, Probably a meet is the way to go to play some good pins, we just had one up here at Newcastle & you won't have to wait long for another in the Newcastle/Central Coast/Sydney area. It's a getting to be a great Pinball Community here.
cheers Steve.

Welcome to AP. You know it never stops at one pin *.*Could be wrong but I thought pin central in sydney was around the pubs in the newtown and inner city area?. Failing that there are some great members here on this site that have had excellent pin nights. ^^^

Hi Paul and welcome. There is a Fishtales (I think) but definately a pin in the Kurrajong on Copeland St, Erskinville in your area. I've never played it, just saw it whilst walking past one night.  There used to be one of those 48 in one arcade coctail cabinets there. Will drop in one night for a game even if it is a bit too modern for me. There might also be a pin in the pub on the corner of City rd and Broadway, opp the old Grace Bros building, think I saw one there a few months ago - but maybe I drink too much!
