G'day All from Newcastle
« on: August 16, 2009, 10:41:51 AM »
G'day guys and gals. Dave Marsh AKA swampy76. Currently residing in Newcastle, NSW. Have previously had a mild addiction to all things pinball, and I think it's brewing again....Previously owned a getaway that was in shocking condition. Spent the cash and the time and so begins the new hobby!! Does anyone know of a website that publishes locations of machines around the country? A list of where to go and play your favourite machine would be great. Cheers all.

Thanks Guys. Already have a wishlist.......Fish Tales, LOTR, TSPP, and perhaps a Getaway again. (expensive taste, I know) And out of left field, a Tee'd Off. Two bucks would always last me hours on this one....

Also, anyone dealt with Highway in Newcastle? Reputation? Service? They have a World Poker Tour for sale. Played it once a long time ago. Thoughts on this machine? The price doesn't seem too bad and the condition (certainly the outside of it anyway) looks A1.

Welcome aboard, great to have you here with us.

As an ex-Novocastrian it makes me proud to see a strong pinball community up that way - especially as my first serious foray into pinball was in Newcastle.

Don't know anything about Highway, though.

Welcome, we have a great bunch of pinheads in newy. Make sure you come to one of the meets (bbq, pizza, talk shit, play pins). Not many pins on location in Newy, you played the The Simpsons Pinball Party, and Terminator 2 at Warnersbay Super Strike? (the T2 is in good nick, shame about the TSPP).
Havent heard much about the service from Highway myself.

Hi Dave,

I don't know about 'around the country' but there was a local game shop (Wollongong area) that had a list of all the pinballs they owned and where they were currently (e.g. bars, bowling alleys, etc) that you could go check them out. Some were for sale. I can't remember the place -- my hubby Rod71 could tell you -- but maybe there are places like that closer to you?

Welcome.
Anna
Play Centipede without a track ball? Um -- it's Centipede! A joystick won't cut it, Rod, I NEED MY TRACKBALL!! :wtf:

G'day swampy and welcome to AP.

Seems to be a LOT of enthusiasts popping out of the woodwork in the Hunter lately.

Mate of the pins on your wish list all of them except for Tee'd Off are owned by certain Newcastle members ( FT , LOTR , TSPP , Getaway ).

You should get along to one of our meets . They're great nights and a great chance to play a range of pins .

Hello and %)% to Aussie Pinball,
Hopefully it wont be to long before you get you next pin. Enjoy the site.
Alas if Oz is the same as here in the U.K. pins on site are a dying breed your best bet would be to see if there is anyone on group who is close to you. They are a friendly bunch on here and I am sure that they would invite you round for a few games.
Darren.
