TZ Gumball Geneva sw error

Just replaced the motor on my gumball machine and keep getting "geneva switch error" when testing. It look slike the gumball sequence is out of sync. I did notice the motor spline on the new motor was out 90 degrees to the other one. Do you think this is the reason? I can't rotate it at the moment as it requires a torx driver which is at work to remove the electric motor and then being able to rotate the spline. The old motor still works but seemed to labour a bit. So I could resolder it to test my theory but would prefer to avoid this.

All switches/optos are working by the way. Its like the gumball will rotate and fill one cavity and then rotate and fill another and then rotate again before dispensing a ball. This means theres 3 balls already in the seperator.

The geneva switch is the switch located under the gumball machine with a long contact arm that depresses a microswitch via a plastic cam. Check it out for function Rob.

I doubt it will make a difference if you rotate the shaft as the motor/gearbox does not have a 'home' position, as Dave stated the switch activation lets the game know what postion the gumball it in.  Is the motor running in the correct direction? sounds wierd that you can load up all the slots of the seperator without even dispensing one ball.

It seems to be working, I see it on the diagnostics and have activated it in switch test mode as well.

Its like the geneva wheel is out of sync, the ball doesn't drop out through the exit when the switch is activated. So I'm guessing its stopping short of the ball drop chute. I have noticed that when the ball does drop through to the exit, the switch isn't activated until way after the ball has tripped the exit switch.

You could be right Matt, that's one thing I thought about lying in bed. I think it is but can't be sure. At the moment the seperator that has 4 holes can have 3 of the holes loaded with balls so maybe its going the wrong way. I wired as per the old motor but whats saying the lugs/motor isn't mounted 180 degrees out.

Will have to look at this tonight and see which way the seperator rotates and get to you guys. I'm confident this isn't a major probkem.

Problem solved. As suspected the motor was running backwards.

But let me tell you never attempt to remove the gumball. That bank of plastics in the left hand corner takes some doing. Gumball no problems but that plastic is shear hell. I have no idea how I got it out and even less idea on how I got it in position.
