Gtb Sys 1 Display
« on: December 05, 2009, 08:02:35 AM »
Howdy All,

One of my displays on Hulk just dropped the last digit.  I am assuming that they cannot be repaired   !@#  so I am chasing a working display.

Any info or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

What Sybaux said most likley a 6118 these are easy to desolder as solder is on one side of the board only.

They are available here http://www.jaycar.com.au/productResults.asp?FORM=KEYWORD

You can isolated the problem to either the board or the display by swapping the display with a working one. Do this with the machine off. If the problem follows the display, then the display is faulty.

Been away with work again.......

The problem is in the display itself - I did change the display over to another one as soon as it dropped out.

I will chase up the chip and see how I go, that link to Jaycar didn't work for me.  Does anyone have a pic of what I am actually looking for (the connector pins didn't look that great so the fewer times I pull it of and put it back on the better).

I've got machines dropping all over the place at the moment, just little niggly things but a real pain in the butt.   ^&^

not  cheap

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GOTTLIEB-PINBALL-MACHINE-6-DIGIT-NUMERIC-DISPLAY-BOARD_W0QQitemZ140119139242QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_15?hash=item209fc063aa

Cross fingers I should be right repairing this one.  At that price if I have to replace it I will probably go the LED ones I think.

Ken/Skybeaux has come through for me.......two at half the price.  Thankyou very much Ken.

Can I just say that I am constantly impressed with the good will and good blokes on both the Aust pinball forums.  Great stuff and thanks.

EDIT:  Display fixed by replacing the 6118 chips.  Thanks again.
