Thanks for the kind words guys ^^^

Next update;

Today i had been back and forth between this pf and my Quickdraw pf, doing bits n pieces on both at once!! Anyway for this one this post here is how i decided to do the black circles around the inserts for the section i detailed in my last post.

I spray painted these with a spray can, believe it or not!! First as can be seen in the 1st pic, i stuck down some clear contact over the inserts, and used a compass with a scalpel attached to cut out the circles (i read about a similar trick here ages ago.. i think it was a trick of retropin's  !@# !@# ) anyway it worked a treat!! perfect circles ready to be sprayed. The only mistake here was that where i had the compass point, i should've stuck extra masking tape down.. to cover the hole in the contact where the compass point was, which i forgot to do in my haste to get some paint on  @.@ next time i'll know better. The result of this was a nice black pinhole in the middle of the insert @.@ whick i had to scrape out carefully with the scalpel and refill with some clear lacquer. After  doing this and a sand back with 1200 grit wet&dry paper and a polish with some 3M hand glaze the came up pretty good.

Next time i'll double sided tape down some thin plastic to the centre of the inserts for the compass point to dig into rather than the insert!!

I would be really keen to see before and after pictures of these playfields once they are completed.
I think seeing the end result next to what you started with would blow people away  @@*

More pics; this time of the area just above the outhole, which was looking a bit tired so i repainted it, first the white, then the purple, (1st and 2nd pics respectively). Finally a pic of the lower section almost done, Just the light blue in the outlanes to do, it cant be seen in the pic but there are some spots of missing paint here, which i'll be able to touch up rather than completely respray the whole areas.

The PF is about 90% done now.. just a few small touchups to do, and i also have to finish the black circles around the large bonus inserts. I reckon it'll be ready for the mylar sunday arvo at the latest  $#$

Impressive stuff!

When you are painting say the area around the outhole in the white, do you stick down the contact and THEN cut out the bits you want white?

Do you use a guide to cut or just have a really steady hand?

Yepp, i just stick the contact down first, then cut out the areas to be painted. I dont use any guides to cut, its all done free hand, i just take my time and cut carefully (except when i need a dead straight line, then i'll use a steel ruler as a guide).
