Really nice, Mitch

Question - do you cut a circle in the mylar for each post  - or is the post fitted on top of the mylar.

Thanx Nino

Yes the mylar has to be cut anywhere anything bolts down hard onto the PF, otherwise the mylar will lift and bubble up around posts etc.  I usually cut a circle around where each post will screw down, using a scalpel with a guide to get a neat hole in the mylar

Wow that looks soo good  #*# you'd have to be a happy man as will the owner.  Thanks for taking the time to document it for us.

When you put the mylar down, do you apply a whole sheet and then trim the cutouts for  bumper, drop, sling openings and playfiled posts and then press the mylar down harder?  Or do you trim the mylar first and be super acurate in how you position it?

The holes for the bumpers, posts etc are cut after the mylar has been applied (not yet done in these pics). After the mylar is on, i then burnish it down hard by rubbing it down using the back of a table spoon, before the protective film is removed from the mylar. After its burnished down i then remove the protective film, revealing nice shiny mylar!!

I usually cut out all the post / bumper holes etc after the burnishing step.

thanks for the positive comments guys.. nice to know my, what i consider 'humble' efforts are appreciated ^^^

Just thought i'd add a few more pics if the parts starting to go back on. These pics show the "Math-o-mat" i used as a guide to cut out the mylar with a scalpel for the posts where they screw down. As i mentioned, this HAS to be done otherwise the mylar will lift and bubble around the post.. learned that the hard way in the past *%*  @.@

Hi everyone, The owner of this PF called in last night for a look at the PF and.. he is VERY happy with the results  $#$

As you all know after my last couple of posts, i have started putting all of the furniture back on.. im in the middle of doing the white wooden guide rails, which i'm sanding back to bare wood to refinish. Will post some pics of the finished PF this weekend.

Yeah yeah this bloody thing is still in my posession @.@ finally got the final touches done to it.

Since the last post, i have removed and repaired every lamp socket, repainted the apron and applied the Pinball Rescue apron decal, rebuilt the flippers, slings and bumpers etc, and touched up the drop target markings and covered them with mylar.

The last item which i just finished this afternoon was the spinner, reapplied the new artwork. The owner has been really laid back about me getting this finished, since he is doing the cab repaint and hasnt gotten very far with it, so as a result hasnt hassled me to finish the pf.. telling me "no rush" so i have been taking my time with it :lol

Well now its completely done, i am going to light a fire under his arse to come and pick up the pf, as i am dying to work on some of my own restores, and i want the PF jig so i can start on the KISS pf resto!!
