Bad luck with LOTR le
« on: January 19, 2010, 06:46:42 PM »
After my US trip , I had my LOTR (with shaker )delivered .
Boy was I excited to cut the straps .
Sunday morning was D day, with the family all set to go my youngest cut the straps .I opened the flaps to take a peak down the side on the cabinet and then I saw it , dent in the cabinet just below the flipper button .
WTF had to be my luck  ^&^.
Sent photos to Seller ,with out question he will kindly replace it but he hasn't got stock until mid year when the second run will be produced .
What to do ?
It's all paid for ?
Tony

get your money back, or ask the dealer to repair and re-decal?

Tony, was the box damaged in any way ?, did it look like the machine had been packed by an idiot at the factory who knew it was dinted and just didnt care, or had the machine been removed from the box already by the person/company you ordered it from.

Can u take a photo and post it. Is it a big and noticeable dint, or is it only tiny and u can only see it from a certain angle in a certain light ?

I don't think it warrants a redecal , but a touch up could easily be done.
Question is ,would the touch up  effect the resale price at a later date ?

Wonder if WMS ever had similar product quality control issues.
is that a 5mm dent?
I was expecting to see something bigger. Just write it of to badluck, forget about the tiny flaw, and enjoy ya pin.

Were you planning on playing the machine Tony or removing the battery and putting it back in the box?  If you were going to play it, I'd nearly just keep it and enjoy but if you were planning on putting it back in storage I'd ask for another one, hold onto this one until you get a replacement.
Addicted to pins.

That little dent is gonna bug the shit out of you every time you look at the pin. Brand new means no scratches/no dents. If anyone is to scratch it, it should be you - take it back.

My LOTR LE has a similar scratch on the side, a touch smaller, its not a big deal, touch up one day!
