Recommend freighters from US(Washington) To Australia
« on: January 25, 2010, 05:58:46 PM »
Hi,

Anyone recommend to me a reliable freighter that could pick up a pin in the US and get it to me here in Aus.Also taking care of all the customs duties etc?

The pin will be wrapped in cardboard and shrinked.

Cheers

Hi,

The pin will be wrapped in cardboard and shrinked.

Cheers

Does that mean it was a wide body but will now be standard size as it has been shrinked?

I would think that you need to use a Freight Company that has an agency here in Australia ? Has the seller recommended anyone ?

Call mainfreight international. I use them all the time to ship from the USA to NZ, Germany to NZ, NZ to AUS

http://www.mainfreight.co.nz/aus/Australia-Home.aspx

They have depots / offices in most major cities in Aussie

I recommended them to Tony @ pinballshed and he was very happy with the service

They will pickup from any business address worldwide, or get the seller to drop it off at the nearest depot
It will need to be on a plastic palette (otherwise you maybe stung with a fumagation cost)

They handle everything will do AIR & SEA will cost around $1100 air  $600 sea

I have a pin going to AUS with them next week and my LOTR LE on its way now with them

Hi,

What does freight cost to get a pinball from the States to Australia?

The E-Bay machines are always tempting especially with the Aussie dollar doing well.

If it is just the one item - then try these guys ;

I found them to be very good.

I used to use Halford's International - who were excellent. They were bought out by Mainfreight who only like to deal with corporates and I found to be dishonest. I would avoid Mainfreight as they don't like dealing with individuals - their customer service reflects that fact.
