Just a couple of pics of the Prorotype GNR I bought of Dave (Silverball) last year.

Curious, what makes a GNR a prototype?

I see the speaker grilles are slightly different, but I don't see the translite I've seen called a prototype translite before.

not that I see any translite in the pics though :)

This auction has the translite I've seen called 'prototype' - and I like it a lot better than the 'production' one

I remember mark c selling a gunners pin that had a head phone socket/jack point just below the rose shooter??

was this a prototype Guns N Roses?

The main difference is the colour of the speaker grills, the different ramp behind the Rose ramp, different apron decals.

There are other differences, but I cannot remember the others....

Found some good info on ipdb about GNR - looks like that's a sample playfield, not a prototype playfield.

I always thought a Japanese GNR would be really cool to have.

Marco tells me I have a prototype Jurassic Park Playfield. Seems DE had a lot of released proto machines ?

Cant wait for the pics, had this pin gathering dust in my shed waiting with no time for me to restore. Was hoping that Marty or Angelo would grab it. Looks better already, even with the half missing decal.

I remember reading somewhere (not sure where) that the "proto" Gunners pin had slightly different wording on some of the inserts around the PF . Also the apron decals were slightly different (again I think it was just some wording that was different) .

In regards to that one on U.S. ebay you posted the link to ... Surely that must have been pulled by the seller or ebay . No bids at $300 U.S. ..

Ramps at the back of the pf, decals are diff on the apron, some insert colour differences, speaker grills are a different colour and IIRC the snake was different too !

Nino funny you mention that about DE machines as i came across 2 Batman Forever side by side and one was a sample/proto or what ever you wish to call it..

It had diff plastics,different colour inserts, had the JP metal gun handle instead of the cheap and nasty plastic one, metal ramps in sections instead of the green ones, the speaker panel was yellow and green instead of blue and green....

I thought the same thing, they go for Drug money here in Aus
