Ok...I had some board reset issues come up on my Flintstones...anyway I did the bridge rectifiers and the caps had been done before in the past...
Before I fixed the board up and when it was resetting the GI lights dimmed heaps everytime you hit a flipper button...worse when you hit the right hand flipper as there are 2 flippers on that side...
Anyway I have zero problems as far as resets go now so all good..but the GI lights still flicker badly when you hit the flippers...almost to the point that they turn off....the plug going to the board for the GI lights is not burt and looks fine...
I did a test with the coin door buttons to see if the GI lights dim...and they seemed to work...dims on 1,2 3 with slight flicker...but when I got to dim test setting 6 the lights started to flicker really badly...then the numbers after that seemed fine but the last 2 or 3 settings in the dim test didnt look any different to each other to me...
Anyway anyone got a tip on where to look or what to fix...and yes I am a rookie/noob when it comes to boards ect really..

Is it the vibration of the flippers causing the G.I to flicker?

Either way, I'd remove the driver board and with a DMM check the G.I traces from the plug to upstream components.  I would also check the underside of the header pins for cold joints.

Secondly I would check the G.I plug which goes into the transformer (yellow/white & yellow) and reseat the connector a couple of times. (with power off and unplugged of course).

Is it ALL G.I doing the same thing or certain strings?

And look closely at the connectors for GI - From memory - J120 + J121 - just in case they are a little brown.

No luck yet...the plugs all look fine to me as well as the one in the bottom of the cab..

You'll need to pull the driver board out and check the G.I header pins with a DMM, most likely if there is cold joints or a break in a track you won't see it visually.

Check to see if the first pin of J115 is tied to ground as it should be.

I've seen similar issues when pin1 was not tied properly to ground due to bad traces.

Im now going to get Mick to have a look at it for me...
I noticed its totally different to the other 2 wpc machines I have...
The Flints has a stepdown transformer in the bottom and no power box inside the door on the left...will let Mick stuff around with all that mess if needed...I dont want to do the Wotto mumble dance around the garage.. :lol
