GTB Player Unit Problem - Need picture !
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:05:39 PM »

Canada Dry is almost a working machine ! Small issue that I could not fix before coming in tonight, and it will "bug me" all night. What I need is a picture of the player unit wiper arm at "Player 1 / Ball1" on a four player Gottlieb. Got pictures of mine in the resto thread - will be the same in any 4 player GTB from this era. I deleted the photos that I had with the alignment of the cams with respect to the wiper arm.

So what is happening ?

On a three ball game - 1 Player;

Ball 1 served and we play the first ball and it scores on Player 1. Ball Drains
Ball 2 served but we play the second ball on Player 2 ! Ball Drains
Ball 3 served but we play the third ball on Player 3 ! Ball Drains - Game over

I THINK I have the wiper arm in the wrong position - (can go in one of three positions). I rebuilt it and it works fine - But it is probably in the wrong position - so if anyone has a picture as I've described above, I'd appreciate it !

Marty - The player unit is in the head, but you gave me an idea - To look in the "Target Alpha" which is the same machine

Here are some images that might help. Not sure on the positioning of Player one, 1st ball (project machine havent fired up) however you will be able to line up the wipers from these images. Not sure whether this is the same unit as your 'Canada Dry'.

Great info - and THANKS HEAPS for posting.

I ended up fixing the issue - you can find it in my Canada Dry restore thread  ^^^

I would have been totally lost without the schematic !
