Interesting !

The site is VERY difficult to navigate, so it is really hard to find out too much detail. Hopefully pinball news will do some sort of special ?

and there is alot more to come.
my brother sent me a copy of a email/site with a chineese manufacturer who is introducing a line of pinballs in the coming months.it is mainly for the asian markets. they are a rip off of a standard pinball machine, except the dotmatrix display is a lcd 22 inch computer monitor built into the back display, and the game is normal pinball with an over sized dotmatrix, that doubles as a video game screen. the pricing was around 5 grand USA. the themes were mainly sports like.

but its chineese.  @.@    BUT , if they started doing repro addams familys or twilight zones, circus voltaire etc, i would buy one if it had a spares kit and a very very good pricetag. well maybe.?

So long as the themes/titles don't suck, bring it on.

Hope some show up here in Oz.

Thanks for posting - Initial thoughts ;

- Looks VERY simplified and basic. One level and no ramps. An SS/EM feel  ^^^
- LEDs instead of lamps
- Great artwork

I like it - but I want to see how the Display works within the game.

VERY grateful that we can see ACTUAL photos and progress  *%*

Loved the first paragraph!!

It does look interesting - I think the price tag will ultimately decide whether this is a winner or not. Gameplay will determine whether they get repeat business.

it would be nice to see one here in Australia.

the led lighting looks good and was a smart move.

basketball just a boring american theme though.

hope they make a new one but with a better theme. i dont think stern has much to worry about but.

As a fan of innovation, I welcome new features such as:

*LCD display instead of DMD #*#
*Camera to record top player's images <.>
*Deletion of rollover slots by using magnetic sensors (providing they don't require trimming) %$%
*All LED lighting ^^^
*PCBs in lieu of sub p/f wiring (if the traces don't f**k up) !@#
*Even transparent drop targets  :D

My hope is that having competition might fire Stern up to incorporate some of these ideas.

Overall the Grand Canasta is a seriously sucky theme and the game is rather two dimensional, but with advancements like this, MarsaPlay should well become a serious contender.
It's high time some genuine opposition emerged IMHO.
