Yes Timbo, a tumbler is a must.  Certainly makes light work of polishing posts, screws and other metal furniture.

Not a great deal of progress today...Groundhog day with underside mechs'.  Each removed, cleaned, lubed (where required), new sleeve....

Interesting to note - I find some of these components 'tell' the story of the pin.  On games which have seen a busy life out on route, the metal components show this history, with gouges, wear marks and general wear and tear to the point of disposal.

This WCS however after a light clean they look like new.

Nothing too serious John.

I had to put an order in with Marco's for 1 x $2.00 part.  In order to fill out the $30USD postage, I tried some of their tumbler media and surprisingly it works extremely well.  The best part is when I tip it into my bucket-o-strainer device (patent pending) the media falls straight through and the metal parts are ready in 2 sec.

I like the sound of the media falling through the strainer i had getting the parts out then cleaning out the screw heads YUK.   

  I tend to end up buffing each nut and screw head on my buffing wheel because i like em nice and shiny would you consider this over kill?

Sweet - thanks for the heads up, i'll go and check them out (hope they're open today). At $120 (or there abouts) sounds like its a GREAT investment.

I am progressing slowly with the rebuild.  Work is getting in the way, but what do you do!

Flippers have been fully rebuilt.  New kit (RTBB), bushings.  I also loctite the bushing nuts and bolts as well.  The flipper coils which came with it were a mix-match so I've installed two brand new ones as well.

Continuing the underside rebuild the Goalie Ball Popper assembly had a broken coil bracket.  A bit of a Euro-hack had been installed but this had broken as well.  Unfortunately nobody stocked the correct one locally so I had to purchase from OS.  Any missing or incorrect nut or playfield screws are replaced along the way.  All OPTO's are removed and cleaned.

The ball trough removed, cleaned and I always give it a light sand where the balls run to prevent any hangups.

Basically I have 2 pop bumpers to complete then the underside is 100% done.

Progress is being made, slowly.

ALL playfield mechs have now been removed, stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and new sleeves.  Finished this now!

Rebuilding of the topside of the playfield is to begin.  Playfield has been waxed and all components ready & cleaned to go back on.  Plastics and ramps are still yet to get the treatment but this will be next.
