I have a master display board which has been heavily soldered to try and fix dry joints and its beyond reflowing im thinking of stripping the board and replacing whats needed. The original diodes are in4003 which are 200v can i substitute with in4004s which are 400v????

You can safely use 1n4004 - they are both 1amp devices. 1n4004 is double the DC blocking voltage and RMS reverse voltage. The highest voltage in the MBD is 110V.
I think it should be fine.

once upon a time the price difference between 4001, 4004, 4007 was great but these days they are practically all the same price. I don't bother with the lower (voltage) rated ones any more - I only stock and use 4007 (1A 1000V) in all new designs.
