Original will always be better - but one day I MAY build one of these myself 
It is something that enters my mind to do every now and then.

I reckon for the outlay of probably around $3000 for all the gear ( screens, PC, buttons, cabinet , artwork ) and the fun ( and eventual pride ) of building the thing yourself AND at the end of it you have a machine that is physically the same size and 'feel' when you stand at it AND the ultimate fact that it can also ALSO run an infinite amount of tables, then it would be worth the $$ IF you could spare it.

NO it will NEVER EVER replace a real pinball game , I would never say that - BUT not bad to play considering the endless game possibilities.

As long as you do not want to play games that use ROMS
or worried about crap physics


But yep, interesting to see the real game side-by-side to an emulator

I think the PF and graphics are clearer on the digital than they are on the original....

I think after watching them "side by side", I dislike the emulators even more - it highlights the lack of "physics" - depth and character. I like the feel of a machine, after all pinball is tangible. I tried Fathom on ultrapin and it is NOTHING like the "real thing". I applaud the effort guys put into the emulators, but I simply don't like it. This video just confirms it for me.

I love using pinmame to get an idea of the sounds of a game (very important to me) and an idea of the theme, but to think that it gives even a hint of gameplay is ridiculous. That pincade Frankengame is sort of OK to see what a real game looks like, but I couldn't imagine wanting to have one.

You have to admit that some of these table 'drawers' are very talented and if they hook 3D into future releases- well you never know 
In relation to appearance - all they need to ( for this pinball emulator ) do is create the 'depth' rather than having things 'come out' towards you - so thats not too hard.
And bear in mind that glass-less ( wearing no glasses ) 3D is here as well - soon.
