Restoration of a Flintstones
« on: August 06, 2010, 09:26:08 PM »
Hi guys,

I will be embarking on a restoration of a Flintstones over the coming months, in between all of my other work commitments.  This game is going into the private collection as the wifey has been a fan of this game for a long time, since playing one at MarkC's about two years ago (thanks Mark!).
After seeing the brilliant job Wotto did with his, I'm going to be giving mine similar treatment..

Thanks to Oscar for doing me a great deal on this game..

Overall a great base to start with.  Playfield is in very nice condition.

All flippers will be replaced along with a full rebuild of all other components!

The apron was in reasonable shape, but I stopped in and briefly saw the Duckman this morning who gave me a great deal on a new one - although I did have to give him a whopping great tip to keep quiet!

Underside of playfield is free from hacks, which is always a nice starting place.

Nice dirty cabinet - just how I like them!

Excellent choice. I've got one in storage I'm hoping to get to someday.

I could use a new apron, but the freight from overseas is killer. Hey Duckman, how about you come back to Bloomington this summer, and bring me an apron? :)

Good stuff Marty, FS is a fun machine.  You probably know that I am the proud owner of Wotto's old FS machine now.

A common problem with this machine are the two flaps/diverters at the top of the playfield - both of them should open up to allow the ball to flow around the top of the playfield.  On both of the FS machines I have had, they haven't worked properly.  I'm sure you will figure the machine out but if you need a hand with anything just give me a yell.

Addicted to pins.

Thanks guys, I'll try to update it when I can.  As its 'real time' it may be a slowish one!

Pete - At this stage the game is going straight into the collection as the next game was wifeys choice, although somehow the Star Wars which was also her choice we kept, so I'm not sure whats going on there!   *!@
