What was your favorite Commodore 64 / Amiga game back in the 80's & 90's

Remember the old C64?
I used to love the Boulder Dash games + the Boulder Dash construction kit & Raid over Moscow.
For ages I had the old cassette tape drive then we spent around $200 on a floppy disk drive. The disk drive was so much faster then the tape drive.

Then there was the Amiga 1000, 500 & so on
I had a large box of floppy disks with games. Then I had a 20 megabyte hard drive
Ram was around $100 per Meg back then.

What do you remember most about the old Commodore computers?

C64, Immpossible Mission
I loved that game
runing around rooms, collecting puzzle pieces, and hopefully not getting zapped by the robots

I worked at Myer store in Toowoomba in the computer department back in the 80's and absolutely loved the Amiga 500.
Compared to the PCs at the time, the Amiga blew them all away with it's graphics and sound capabilities. 

Like you Beaky, I also had several boxes full of Disks.(Actually my dad still has them all!) 
Also loved Boulderdash on Amiga. So many great levels and 2 player co-op mode as well.
Other games I remember are "Defender of the Crown", "Sinbad and the throne of the falcon" and of course "It came from the desert"

I think the first time I ever encountered a computer virus was on my beloved A500. (Those were the days!)

A while back I stumbled upon the E.A.G.E.R.(Every Amiga Game Ever Released) pack and WinUAE and still enjoy an old Amiga game every now and then.

I totally forgot about that game, I spent many hours playing impossible mission. I used to to have a looped recording of Axil-F and had it playing in the background when playing I.M. it was the perfect music for the game

You are right, the capabilities where amazing. IBM Compatible computers of the time had a flashing cursor and the amiga had windows and a mouse.
The stereo audio, the 1 or 2 meg graphics

Another great game on the amiga was GODS. into the wonderful

Choplifter ruled on c64,and cannon fodder,sensibile soccer and panza kickboxer rocked on the amiga,the Bulliten boards used to be awesome for amiga warez i always found it amazing how a game was released in the uk and the next day it was cracked,patched with a trainer and available for download in australia,games still had a bit of magic back then and wernt all eye candy like todays versions.

Rick Dangerous on the Amiga, simple game, but very addictive.

Elite is the best game ever made. I spent HOURS playing that game.
The Boss was a text based Soccer Management Game that was very addictive.

Another World, great platform game on the Amiga

never had a C64, got a tandy trs-80 color computer which had great games as well but not as many as the 64

+1 for Dune2 and syndicate. I remember playing Dune on PC and my mate got to the very end before me where you fire the big nuclear missile and him telling me after hours of fighting, night after night, he finally gets to fire this missile and he watches the thing flying across the screen and just before impact his monitor blows up.  That's one mean mutha of a game I reckon.
