if u seriously want me to take photos of all the NOS ramps I just purchased, to show just how close to mint they are (not brittle, yellow or thin, but like they just came off the production line) I will take some photos when i get home from work this afternoon.

the photos will show just how good NOS are.  the quality (still) will give the new ramps a run for their money, any day of the week. I will even take photos of all the ramps being flexed (bent) to show just how tough they are, not to mention crystal clear n shiny, straight out of the NOS boxes.

CoT, the OP asked for peoples opinions, nothing more
If you like NOS, more power to you

that others here prefer repro's (when avaliable) is fine too

Ther is always more than one way to aproach things

It's all good, this thread is what it's all about, a good exchange of information and opinions.  Choices for everyone.   ^^^No need to come to a discussion with a pre-loaded chip on ones shoulder. <..>

Whatever you'd like to do.  If I set you off (bold and all) I didn't mean to, it's just a friendly response referring to photo's as a way to allow "everyone to be there".  Some people enjoy sharing the moment and seeing the photo's of NOS boxes and whatever.  Glad you are so hyped on NOS, I'm glad to see anyone getting what they paid for and enjoying it.  Sincerely, I hope they work out for you for years to come once you get them installed.  One word of caution, flex testing and impact testing are quite differenct...don't try to demo by hitting them with a hammer...been there, done that. &^&

Ahhh - the "new and politically correct" PSPA....

Express what you like - you're too big for me to argue with!  <.>

What's next for you guys? PSPA uniform of slacks, shirt & tie?

Mark and Damien coming to work with "product" in their hair?
Why is it called PMS?
Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken...

I've used both.

99% of the time, I prefer to use repros.

The NOS ramps typically pull a higher price, because there are a few people who consider 'restoring' a game throwing everything and anything they can find that is NOS at it, and not actually 'restoring' anything.

I put NOS ramps in my proto CFTBL, because I figured it might have a higher value with OEM parts, and it's an exception to the rule. On my 'regular' CFTBL, I have repro ramps waiting for it.

It's nice to have a choice though.

Some less popular games, though, you just gotta find what you can. I've got a NOS wall ramp assy for my Rollergames, and I don't see this one ever being popular enough to repro - and my BSD restoration featured a partial NOS ramp set because they aren't repro'd.

If they were reproduced, I'd buy repros!

Hey, if they can repro the ramp on Strange Science, anything is possible
