You could use Krylon Triple Thick and seal the glass to prevent further flaking. Then try restoring the BG with paint.

I guess you could also ask for a replacement backglass in the "parts wanted" section - just in case someone has a spare lying around.

original backglass

Looking at it, it looks like it's already been repaired before badly! it has lumps and streaks on the back and is missing all reflective bits!  &^&

Your BG is cracking and lifting..... if you want to prevent further deterioration then it will need sealing with a clear.

The missing reflective silver is meant to be like that... where the silver is is the "blockout" and no light shines through these areas from the back... where its "missing" is the translucent part and when in the backbox, its this part that lights up by allowing the light to pass through.... youll notice its the horse and carriage, flames and lettering... all these parts illuminate

I have bought a new BG, (9/10) but i don't know what to do with the old one. (I think i'll just seal it and put it somwhere to be forgotten until the machine is perfect and I have nothing else to do because its pretty bad LOL. Will post bg pics on saturday!

My plans are to clearcoat the back of the bg and get a thin glass paint to fillin bits that are missing (missing bits are only Speckled) and it will need a clean.

Ok so, this morning I started a test on my new glossy A4 Sticky paper!
I took a photo of my spare swinger playfield and photoshopped it to create an enhanced sticker! *!@ (took me 2 hours to make a basic sticker!!  ^&^ )
Ive currently done a test on paper to make sure i had the size right and have printed on the gloss paper and am now waiting for it to dry (15 mins = touchdry and 24 hours before use)
I have taken some pics so you can guess how wild fyre should work out.
The first 2 are what i used to make sticker (1st was for colours & 2nd was for the rest)
the last two are a normal quality print on normal printing paper

Backglass is an improvement !

Color matching with decals is a painful experience for me. I can never get it right. More "trial and error" - the only way to learn. Keep up the good work.

You can purchase colour charts http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/pantone.aspx?ca=1 but i dont know how good they are. you would need a fairly good printer thats calibrated well. but really you should use a well calibrated printer anyway! but I dont because you can get a $20 printer from anywhere! (mine was from local post office!) but its the Ink that costs (you need to have goood quality ink that sometimes needs a dearer printer but also refilling cartriges can make the cartridge loose calibration)  !@# I don't worry too much. a printer that has good for photo printing attached to it is good enough for me. Its getting photoshop thats a main hassle! http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/whatisphotoshop/ well look at that link, for just photoshop (the basic up to date) from US$699! That is adobe Photoshop CS5.1.0, I use Adobe Photoshop CS1.8.0! Thats why it takes me a while to do the photoshopping (a lot less tools and options but still possible just time consuming) I have used Adobe Photoshop CS3.10.0 bu cant get my hands on anything newer with out losing $ out my pocket. It's something i'll need to just live with for a while, oh and the newest full adobe package is http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/mastercollection/ I think you would need to work for them to get a discount to afford it! US$2,599 a pinball itself! keep in mind when you buy photoshop i think you get 3 or 5 licences (i'm not sure how many) but if you can understand it and do playfield restorations or backglass restorations or any large printing it's worth getting a big printer (possibly uv) and investing in photoshop!  !@# ^&^
