Hi all,

I have just replaced the glass on my arcade cocktail table and want to paint it black. Does anyone know if i have to do any prep work before i paint? Can i use a spray can and what is the best paint to use?

There is a additive you buy, which helps the paint stick to the glass. Sorry I don't know what it is called. Hope it helps.
Ask at a paint shop, hopefully they might know??

Solver sell a cleaning fluid that you can use to clean the glass. I prefer to use automotive acrylic paint as it dries faster and it does take a few coats to prevent the light passing through the paint.

Done this a few times - Just have the glass cleaned with windex, mask the area and paint using either a flat black or semi gloss. Remove the masking tape before the paint dries.

Paint the side of the glass that does not have any scratches.

Bunnings - "White Knight" Satin Black (from memory) - although a cheap Flat Black will do fine.

yes, a spray can will do the job quick & easy. No problems. 

Just a follow up on my earlier post of what we use at work. We spray 2 pac for glass splashbacks etc.
It's like a Part A & B process. First, we use a clear cleaning primer (Part A), it dries instantly,then we use another product called final clean, which basically doesn't remove the primer.
Then we add (Part B) an activator (approx 3%) to our paint, which helps to the paint to stick to the glass (Part A) better.
Well, as you can see, a bit more stuffing about, but something we have to do, commercially.
