Hi from a lurker
« on: February 17, 2011, 12:42:45 AM »
I have to admit that I have been lurking around this site for some time and have not contributed. After reading the recent topic on this I thought it was time to rectify this slackness. That is the major reason I don't contribute and usually my sense of humour confuses people.

A little about me I am in my middleish 50's and currently have a couple of Gottlieb pinballs a Big Hurt and a Mario Andretti (due to my interest in speedway). Also have a Gottlieb lowboy arcade cab with a 1800+ game set up. More coincidence than anything else that they are all Gottlieb. Although growing up in the 60 & 70's I was always intrigued by the name when playing pinball. In those days we weren't very multicultural in Newcastle and I hadn't heard of anybody with what I thought was such a cool name.

Always been interested in arcades and pinballs after owning a heap of game consoles, C64s starting with Pong that cost me heaps back in the 70's.
One of my son's inherited a cocktail table to fix about 18 months ago and ever since it has got out of hand between the 2 of us with him picking up projects all over the place

Currently think I would like a car themed EM preferably Gottlieb of course.

G'day Oldboy, welcome to Aussie Pinball. Lots of Gottlieb love here for sure (I have more Gottlieb than any other brand).

Good luck with the EM search!!

That is just a beautiful work of art.
I think I would just put it in the lounge room so I could sit there and admire it.

Welcome mate, I wouldn't worry too much about lurking as there are usually enough posts to go around, but congratulations on putting keyboard to forum and making that first post!

Sounds like a nice pair of machines you have there.

That Flying Turns is great with the cars in the backbox, I played one in Vegas and thought it was real cool how it is 2 games in 1
