Well it didn't go according to script but I did get a Gottlieb Sure Shot. Got it off Ebay (seems like everyone in Australia had a look at it) and it is a little sad but with a lot of TLC should come up OK.
Talking of scripts it was pure Ebay.....worked great until...... / a mate said he could fix it no trouble but he hasn't got time....I've had lots of offers but it is still here etc. etc. Why don't they just tell truth....after the smoke cleared and the firemen left it didn't work.
He somehow even managed to lose some of the the number inserts out of the every colourful playfield...how???
Has the typical reset problem and it appears there is a blade broken of in one of the score reels which also look like a couple have been put in the wrong way...expert mate no doubt.
Anyway have given the playfield a bit of a clean and replaced the globes, rubbers and some posts that have disintegrated over time.
Now off to the local EM mechanic for a bit of a tune up before tackling cabinet and legs and on and on.
All in all pretty happy with it.

Hello Oldboy.
I read about your love of Gottliebs, espescially the Mario Andretti Pinball.  

About 2 years ago, I was lucky enough to see a 1 x owner, home use only, Mario Andretti Gottlieb Pinball up here in QLD.
The machine was in storage at the Pinball Warehouse, owned by Kenny Priest from the Logan area. From memory, the machine was sold to a collector in the USA, unless u were the lucky one to get it.

The game had only 200 games on it, and it was absolutely pristine. It sold for something like $2500 and it was probably the best example of a Mario Andretti still left on the planet. Kenny Priest had the machine in storage for about 6 years, and apparently, the European wholesaler had sold it still in its delivery box. I did see the machine wrapped n packed in its original sales box and away it went. Maybe you were the lucky buyer ! It was mint. Not many around either.

Another member on here, Leon(V8racefan) also collects car styled pins and has a few great car titles as well.)  Welcome to the forum.

Whare are u located. Feel free to post a photo of your Mario Andretti. Rare machine.

Unfortunately not mine was a container one and had a heap of games with the typical wear where the mylar ends near the flippers.
Makes the best noise of a race engine  starting then revving. Good for my 3 year old grandson too as it has a pop up post between the flippers and also blocks the drain lanes so it gives him a long play. Plus the race commentary and the spinning cars its all good fun.
