Haunted House, yeah I know I just missed one!
« on: March 26, 2011, 06:03:44 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Looking for a Haunted House.  I know there was a really great cheap one going on here a few weeks back, but just in case someone else is thinking of selling theirs.

Thanks

One on ebay at the moment, no idea what it's like but looks pretty neat from the pics

Thanks, I've had a look at this one in person. Has had some touch ups on the playfield, the cabinet is pretty good, some scratches, the backglass has some scratches and a bit of lifting, but not too bad, and has been sealed. It's working, and the plastics are good. What do you think the market value of one of these is in Australia?

They don't seem quite as sought after as they were a few years ago - I suspect because of all of the container sellers over the last couple of years satisfying demand.

I sold mine to a member for $2700, which would have been on the low side. This one is closer to original than mine, so I would have thought at least low to mid $3's for that one in the condition you describe.

There was a time when a really nice HH would fetch $4500. Dealers would try to sell them for close to $7000 !

Nick is "spot on" - Demand has been met (for now). Collectors do still want them, but they want top end machines these days.

Well that one I mentioned and you looked at which "apparently sold" for $3,050.00 has resurfaced now at $3,500.00 start.

"Private bidding" used the first time and again "to protect bidder's identities". Draw your own conclusions.  !*!

Also the description is a bit vague. I would not be surprised if the game has an intermittant fault from the way it was written.

Haunted Houses "used" to sell around the $4000 - $4300 mark, but they struggle to $3000 today. Nothing to do with the game, it is simply suply has met demand.

I really enjoyed playing HH back in the day at the local 10 pin bowl, when it wasnt out of order, either the op was a slacker or Haunted House is a very high maintinance game, still a great and unique game regardless, good luck with your hunt.

Its a lot more reliable in the home use after doing the ground mods and modding the up kicker with a pop bumper board.
