Playboy Transformer 120 to 240

Just got my delivery of my playboy and have changed the wires on the transformer to get 240v, but just read i got to change the varistor in the cabinet as well.

Need a bally part number E-713-1 but have a E-713, does anyone no if i need to change it or what the differenced between the two are.

Havent had a chance to look at it yet,but will tonight.

I have not actually used these before, but I would assume the 275VAC would be applicable.

Keen to see other's opinions on this as I've not replaced one for a while.

Yes it is. You need a bit of a margin - hence 275V

If you fitted one rated at 240V (our power is SUPPOSED to be 220V these days) it would be forever popping the fuse when the power spiked.

I would get this one:

275VAC 6500A METAL OXIDE VARISTOR (MOV)

Mainly 'cause they are all the same price anyway - this one will cop the largest surge before exploding  %.%

Thats how i got it and was tempted to just plug it in after i changed the transformer wiring, lucky I didn't..Should be able to give it a test tonight. #*#
