there are a hell of a lot members who have NEVER posted anything at all.. which isnt a big problem as far as im concerned, i guess they just want to learn from others or feel they dont have anything to contribute. One of the non posters includes a mate of mine who i convinced to join  !@) who just refuses to participate, which i dont understand at all, as there is plenty he could contribute if he wanted to  ^&^

Also i have noticed the total number of members fluctuate a bit due to spammers who get on here just talking crap/jibberish, trying to flog stuff or whatever the f##k they are doing  ^.^
glad to see they arent here long before their profiles are removed  ^^^ ^^^ we dont need them here infiltrating our fine forum.. best pinball forum on the face of the planet  ^^^ ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

I think you're right. Not every person likes to post, I read RGP regularly but very rarely post these days, use it for research and knowledge, just as I'm sure many of the members here do with our forum. Some people don't feel they have anything to contribute, or just shy about posting. I'd love to hear from every member just once to introduce themselves, but I would also hate to have another forum that is populated by tyre kickers "If I hadn't just spent the cash on a new Space Invaders upright I'd be all over that" sort of stuff.

I did think about setting a requirement once that members who do not post an introduction within 30 days of joining had their account canceled, but on reflection decided there really is no need, lurkers are just as welcome to enjoy the forum - in my opinion anyway.

The quality of the membership here, the level of help offered for free, the lack of egos trying to control the place, all make this forum very welcoming, and so no reason for anyone who wants to post to hold back, and if others want to lurk and learn, that's great too.
