« on: May 26, 2011, 09:41:03 PM »
Greg Freres & Dennis Nordman are venturing into the world of “custom” Pinball

I came across this a little while ago and thought to share with you guys and girls about 2 legends getting back into pinball design with a unique old school style. Check out the read at

I was lucky enough to see this machine in the flesh at Pinball Expo in Chicago at the end of October. They didn't have it on though, so couldn't have a game. Looked awesome!

Cheers!
Adam.

I picked up one of the playfields and backglasses at the Expo.  Greg and Dennis are some of the best people you'll ever meet.  Greg has set up a facebook page where his started selling some of his artwork (Greg Freres Art & Design LLC).  I got a couple of the Fathom giclee prints while in Chicago as well, highly recommend!  ^^^

The ramp business was very very good to me.

Here is a little review by - VID1900 from Pinside that visited the Michigan Pinball Show.

"Whoa Nellie Summary:

An EM style table with a faster gameplay and modern sounds.
Great music. Uptempo pickin' music. Tasty tracks with the correct pacing for the game. Not twangy at all.
Fun features like the Turkey. I overheard a woman bragging that she had "Put it in the Turkey 2 times!". She apparently did not know that the Turkey Hole gobbles up your balls and you don't get them back.
Best original theme of the show, if not of all time (BBB the only thing close?).
Greg Freres hit an artwork home run with bases loaded. When was the last time you saw a vibrant original work like this? No Photoshop cut and paste movie scenes, just the real deal
This game has to win best theme of all time.
The cabinet is crazy clever, the more the wood gets scraped and worn the better it will look.
That is the speaker on top."

The feminists in the USA are having a big sook about the artwork, saying it sexualises women and places all women in danger. Even a few men without testicles are having a cry as well.

It sounds like Stern and Wizbang are under attack from unintelligent people who want to ruin it for everyone else.

What do Aussies think of the fun and cartoonish pinball art on this excellent title.

Just another platform for feminazis to have a whine about those dreadful men who are attracted to boobs.

I think some people have mental issues when they cry n preach about something designed to be fun for grown adults as being something that endangers women and degrades them.

Is the world just getting more and more pathetic, or are these people a minority who should go and get a life ?

Don't be shy. Is there anything immoral about the artwork or are people just being ridiculous ??

I noticed a lady playing the game in the pictures above, what does that say to you ?

I am sure it will upset some people but it does look very cool, vibrant and a bit sexy. Just like TWD some people would complain about death and blood - can never make everyone happy and Dennis has said "I am not opposed to signing boobs" at shows.

I don't think the country folk are not that worried it would seem as one of Spooky's friends "Erin" did the modelling and she had just turned 18.

Nah, mate. That post was way back in 2011. I forgot I even wrote it. Haha

Man, I wish I could have traded 2011 Expo for this year. Was only in Chicago for 2 nights from memory. Never left the hotel. Girlfriend caught up on sleep as we had been busy travelling and I wandered Expo like a kid in a lolly shop. We both went on the Stern tour which was cool, but I had no interest in their new release of Transformers at all. Didn't turn into the Stern fanboy that I am until after AC/DC was released. Would love to go to another Expo, but content that I was lucky enough to go to the one in 2011. Timed perfectly as I had a friend's wedding on while we were in the U.S.

Cheers!
Adam.
