Looks great - but i would have thought with today's technology couldn't someone come up with the same size LCD screen with HD animations for much the same price?

Yes i realise its not original, but neither is a colour DMD....or LEDs

Played Johns Star Trek Next Gen with the new colour dmd etc installed, what a HUGE difference. Made me want to order one straight away for my one.
If anyone has a Next Gen, and wants it to look like a million dollars, then the colour dmd that is available on the link n post above is worth every cent.

The colour dmd is very well suited to Next Gen cause the dmd displays are varied n many. It makes the game feel like something out of 2013 instead of 1993.  Colours are bright n amazing compared to boring old orange. Bargain n Best mod u could possibly add.

Found a video on youtube. I didnt check the previous posts incase someone else has added it ? but here it is. Link below
Also, it is $399 plus $69.99 postage, making it apx $470 to purchase. Not cheap, but an amazing result.

(Look at it like a $300 spend only, if u need another std dmd display for another machine cause u can keep the original from the Next Gen for another game or sell it etc)

next one to be released is WH20 at the texas pinball show.... that should look great.

"ColorDMD is excited to announce that we will be previewing a new multicolor replacement display for White Water pinball machines at the Texas Pinball Festival on March 15-17. The display will be available for play in the Elevation Games booth along with the full ColorDMD lineup including Attack from Mars, Medieval Madness, The Addams Family, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Special thanks to Marc Oradat for making this happen!

This marks ColorDMD's fifth muticolor display since the company's first product release in April, 2012. Randy Perlow will present a seminar at 7:30pm Saturday, March 16 which will highlight the company's products, technology, and evolution. Randy will also discuss how games are colored and give a glimpse into the company's future direction. We hope you can join us!

and another release

"ColorDMD is excited to announce that we will be previewing our new advanced SIGMA display platform at the Texas Pinball Festival on March 15-17. Unlike previous products, SIGMA is non-game-specifc and builds upon ColorDMD's customizable single-color display capability to make best use of the high definition LCD platform.

SIGMA introduces advanced image upscaling algorithms to eliminate grid lines between dots, smooth diagonal lines, and brighten the overall display. SIGMA also introduces new capabilities including CRT scan-line emulation for games like Twilight Zone, that contribute to an enriched player experience like no other! SIGMA is the only pinball display on the planet that provides the capability to configure your display by choosing from among 49 different color hues and from different display effects like classic dots, HD interpolation, and scan lines!

The SIGMA display will be available for play in the Elevation Games booth along with the full ColorDMD lineup including Attack from Mars, Medieval Madness, The Addams Family, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Special thanks to Marc Oradat for making this happen!

Looks like TZ won't be far behind WH20 based on the front page of the colordmd website.

Good to hear, but I would buy Homepins LED display
Color DMD is good for a multicolor display
but as a single color, the brightness just is not there
Homepins LED DMD will be plenty bright enough

Looks good, I like when the full screen goes blue for the awards.
Interesting they did Wh20 before TZ, Wh20 is getting to be a very popular title nowadays  *%*

I had a feeling they had not done TZ yet, on the website home screen it only showed a black and white TZ. In the video it shows the TZ with the sigma display with the emulated CRT scan lines not a colourDMD

Have ordered 4 - 2 MM, 1 AFM and 1 TAF.

Went through Bay Area Amusements for the MM, Planetary Pinball for the AFM and direct through the ColorDMD website for the TAF. All arrived safe and sound.

Not much difference in shipping between them - around $70 mark insured.

It will also depend on who currently has stock of the version you want.
