Old cocktail photo
« on: August 07, 2011, 05:27:10 PM »
Mum dropped this photo and another off yesterday, I'm trying to come up with a date but I'd say early 80's? as kids we used to hire a game off the local op in Eltham and judging by the photo I reckon I'm about 14 yrs old, can anyone tell by the machine or space invaders book on the cab? the game is Space invaders.
We used to have a ball doing this as we hired the game for 24hrs and just play all night on free play yee haa.

Machine doesn't look to old or beat up.

Where's the full scan with your ugly mug in it?

That's a Space Invaders clone cocktail table circa 1979 - 1980.

One of the 'less reputable' operators I worked for in the olden days in Brisbane imported a heap of stuff and I remember them getting a container of those smaller sized woodgrain looking tables - I thought they looked ugly at the time and they still do  %.% - anyway they had Irem Invaders PCBs in them. They made the same money as the Taito tables but cost 1/2 the money to buy.......made sense at the time I suppose, you could cover double the sites for the same outlay and make double the money.
