Oops no more pinball
« on: August 09, 2011, 12:02:37 PM »
Hi guys, been out of commission for some 14 weeks with the dreaded cough. Was thinking at the gym yesterday how great I felt. I must be on the mend.

Now a quick question. What is worse than ripping a bicep off the bone? Your time is up. Answer: ripping both biceps off the bone.  @@*

I go under the knife this week to sew them back. No pinnies for awhile and feeling real low about that.

Such is life

Thanks for the well wishes guys. All sewn back and bandaged since Wednesday. Op took double the expected time as left arm was much worse than the right. Snapped off the tendons on both biceps and had the old roll a blind effect with the muscles floating up near the shoulders.

Sore a bit and have sorted out my addiction with picking my nose. No can do  %.%

On a bright note, I had a couple of games this morning after a hit of pain killers. Played shit but enjoyed the fact I got in a game or two.

To answer Matt, did it at the gym spotting this meat head. Grabbed the bar he was bench pressing and while counting the plates he decided to go while I'm not ready. Reckon he stretched my arms about 2-3 inches more than they should go and heard a mighty rip like ripping a t- shirt apart.

Told him I wasn't happy and drove home and called a Ambulance before my arms had a chance to hurt too much. Btw the plate count for those interested was 8 x 25 kgs plus bar.

Recovery will be slow but 100% I'm told and hope.

Will post a photo of my right arm when I get a chance. Great muscle definition albeit in one compacted muscle. I don't recommend this for beginners or anyone  %.%

Thanks again for the well wishes and hope to get to spend more time on the forum while out of action.

Hope u get better sooner than later. You sound very fit so wont be long before you are back to normal. Thanks for sharing the story.  ^^^

Did the operation get covered under medicare (hopefully) or did u have to pay thru a private hospital with health insurance (which costs a mint) .

As long as u are ok, thats all that matters. Best wishs.  ^^^ ^^^

Went private hence the 48 hour turnaround for the op. So far I'm down on mid range pinball machine price
