Capcom Kingpin a Step Closer
« on: October 09, 2011, 02:42:35 PM »

A post of RGP noted Gene Cunningham will be signing papers with an engineer to redesign the PCBs necessary to produce Capcom KingPin and expects to have some samples in 3-4 weeks.

$7,500.00 US for BBB buyers.

But if you know where I can pick up an original shoot me a PM, I'm impatient!

Great news!

Thought it was $7,000 US Nick (latest correspondence May 2010) and think this is the amount he mentioned at PPE. Unsure if it is $500 less again for BBB buyers.

That's awesome, I noticed the flyer is a bit old, but is it current?

If they did the game would it be suitable for Aus power?

Does anyone here have the ability to freight in a few to keep the costs down?

Count me in on one.

and Tony / Wotto what was the info detailed at this years PPE about this machine.

I brought Greg and my BBB's in, but we did that by air rather than wait for a boat, and two was no cheaper. Not sure how many will be in KP, probably more than BBB, so there might be a better way this time.

You're right Tony, I still had the original $8K price in mind from when they were first offered in 2008.

so do you recommend to fill in the forms and send to register?

And if you bring any in please consider myself for one as my one and only experience of importing myself wasn't a good one.

I spoke with Gene Cunningham at PPE re this game and he advised that the hold up was obtaining the source code and that he had people working on it and a plan B if this does not work. He seems very committed to the project, which is great to see.

I suggest you email Kim at Illinois Pinball to find out what the process is now to get on the list - kim@illinoispinball.com, can't see there will be a problem

Yes, print out the latest version of the form and fax (yes fax - email is not a strong point with them) it to them. That doesn't commit you, so there's no risk. They'll call for deposits for firm commitment when they are ready to start.

As for importing, I'll be organising at least two, happy to do as many as we need.

Well, I sent in my name to go on the list, fingers crossed, just a waiting game now. Marc from BigBangBarStuff was helpful and did say that the BBB can be worth a mint. This is what he wrote in a recent email -

"The BBB project is long done and any machines available are in collector's hands.  There are some NIB BBBs out there, but I hear they are going for over $20,000 USD.  I think used ones go for $8-12k.  If you are interested in a new one, I know of a guy that has a NIB.  I think he rejected an offer over $20k already, so I think it would take $25-30K to get him to let it go.  I don't think he wants to sell it, but has not set it up yet..."

So with that said I think the Kingpin should at least holds it value and from reports sounds like a awesome game.

I saw a post on Pinside by Wise_Guy

"So I talked to Gene yesterday on the phone about him remaking Kingpin. He told me he has someone working on the boards and they are moving forward on the project. I have put my name on the list along with my BBB # so if he does remake Kingpin I will get the same # Kingpin that I have BBB a matching pair. Anyhow the cost is $8,000.00 and no deposit is required right now. They told me they would have a update soon and will keep me posted. If anyone else is interested all thats required right now is to fax them your name, address and contact info and if you own a BBB your BBB # so you can get the same number Kingpin. There fax # is 309-828-3232 phone is 309-825-5844"

sounds like it is slowly getting closer, hopefully he lives long enough to sell them (no disrespect).
