I had to go to my paint supplier today after a CC disaster on the weekend... its just too humid at the moment and the CC went cloudy with trapped moisture. Its not really an issue as it was a final coat #1 and so i have a good build up of clear already below it. The soft damp top coat just sands right off with ease.
Anyway, i got talking about 1 pac and 2 pac finishes.. pros and cons etc... im not a big fan of either and in all honesty doing a CC can go wrong quite easily.
He pointed me into the direction of the new KBS coating.... it can go over acrylic lacquer with no issues... dries absolutely rock hard.. can be hit with a hammer... flexes with timber expansion and contraction... is used to seal high polish metal to seal out rust and retain the high finish.. dries with a high gloss... best of all is self levelling so can be brushed on ( not recommended for paint surfaces though as it can cause drag on the paint)... basically... paint onto coin doors, side trims etc and seal to high gloss finish. Its bloody good stuff.. guy showed me his chrome bumper on his car and it was outstanding. Its more expensive that normal CC, but it is a Diamond coat and seems perfect for a pinball machine.
Link to product is here..

I can use this over a normall CC and it will grab and seal... most 2 pac CC's just sit on the surface and eventually lift or peel off over time... this wont.
Will be getting a litre for the finish coat on Bank A ball and will post results.
