"We ask that you are current on the payment schedule for The Hobbit by 8/31/13"

WOW - That's a bit rich asking people to pay up front and keep their end of the bargain ?

How about they concentrate on their current delays before asking for pre payments on their next title ?

Probably because they are pressed for capital due to delays/ gaps in production/ hiring of new production manager (and moving his entire family to Jersey).

A source close to the company spoke about JJP struggling to build games simply due to a lack of income  !@#

Fingers crossed that he does not get too many warranty claims.  They will need to pump out reasonable numbers of at least 3 titles per annum to keep the wheels turning.

More pieces of the puzzle posted late last night (our time):

Greetings Pinball Fans,

Today we are happy to release another section of The Hobbit Limited Edition Pinball Machine playfield.

Click here to view the middle and lower portion of The Hobbit Pinball Playfield:

http://library.constantcontact.com/download/get/file/1104524641178-267/lower+pf.pdf

This will be a 4 flipper game with multiple shots from all 4 flippers. The upper flippers are very active with the game rules.

As a reminder, as of September 1st the price of The Hobbit LE will increase $500 to $8000.00. We ask that you are current on the payment schedule for The Hobbit by 8/31/13. Those who are not current will see a $500 increase in the price of their game after 9/1/13, making their game $8000.

We will proudly show the full playfield before the end of August. This is going along better than WOZ as much of the basis of the platform is already created.

Only one piece left to be revealed!

A new feature is shown over the left outlane, where a rotating deflector cam adjusts the aim of the kickback lane in a similar way to the launch lane angle adjuster found on games such as Millionaire. It also has the effect of changing the dynamics of the outlane by varying the width but also changing the angles and the chances of saving the ball.

The picture also shows what appears to be a wireform feeding the lane, suggesting the kickback is going to be more than just a ball save and more an integrated part of the playfield action - possibly the drop targets on the rhs

Further down the playfield, the size and position of the circle between the flippers suggests an pop-up post could be fitted here, like the one in Family Guy.

this what Pinball News thought about it...

The design contains, as we speculated in the previous reveal, a second ramp entrance on the left of the captive (or 'Newton') ball. A diverter appears to either allow the ball along the full length of the ramp, or send it straight back down the other entrance.

A shot to the right ramp entrance (without the diverter) sends the ball to the left on a wireform which orbits the Smaug toy before heading down to the left inlane. Details of Smaug are not shown in this drawing, just the space allocated for the mechanism.

In front of Smaug are five drop targets, the right three of which have standups behind, like the two other banks of drop targets.

There doesn't appear to be any direct interaction between the Smaug toy and the ball. However, there is an upkicker directly below Smaug which doesn't appear to have an obvious feed, so maybe Smaug grabs the ball off the wireform as it circles him?

Game designer Joe Balcer is very excited about the possibilities. He says, "The game is all about Smaug and his extreme interaction with the player. Creating The Hobbit journey with a pinball layout is an awesome challenge that I have totally enjoyed putting together. Can't wait to start shooting a full game!"

We can now see how the subway is fed through a hole in the playfield above Smaug. Balls can be sent here by a magnet mounted under the top of the orbit lane, just like the magnet on the right drops the ball into the pop bumpers.

A second spinner rounds off the information revealed by this final part of the puzzle. And yet the puzzle is still incomplete. What will Smaug look like, and what will he do?

Despite having the full drawing , there's still plenty of room for speculation.

As always, we'll bring you all the latest news about The Hobbit right here at Pinball News.

I can't get excited by pinball at all anymore regardless of who makes it, stern, jjp, the china syndrome, the local mole or whoever...all full of hot air and hype.

You are not alone. I don't like the idea of info of the second title being drip fed to a public waiting for delivery of the first title. It is a real smack in the face to the WOZ pre paid customers.

For anyone wanting a Hobbit or 75th Anniversary from JJP, find the cheapest return airfares, check out the factory, meet Jack, pay the $$ in USA $$ cash, watch it get boxed n picked up by the courier, have a coffee, say goodbye, then visit Stern, visit magic mountain in LA or Disneyworld (take a girlfriend, not the wife), then u have had a great pinball trip, made sure you have gotten your pinball goods, fly home.

Well worth the trip after screwing airfares right down for the trip. Visiting JJP then Stern in the same trip would be well worth it.

JJP will survive. They will prosper in time. I don't know of any industry (car, boat, motorbike, jetski, building, anything really) that is perfect and he was a start up. I give the guy kudos for having a big go. Its easy to spray the guy unless u are in his shoes. The one thing I always take into consideration when dealing with any business is their genuine intent.
I cant see anyone on the planet saying realistically that JJP and Jack have meaningly intended to upset anyone, quite the opposite with the passion the man n his team have. In a year or two, JJP will be doing well n the initial bumps in the road will be old news.

The Melbourne fiasco cant be blamed on Jack. Forgetting that, 99 percent of those who have received a WOZ in their home have had great things to say.
I think the Hobbitt will be a special machine. Just watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy yesterday then the Hobbitt movie again. Going to see the new Hobbitt movie tonight. Makes me want a Hobbitt machine.  JJP will come good. Its good for the pinball Industry if he keeps building games n bringing out new titles. In the scheme of start up companies, its still very very early days. Hats off to the guy for trying to make pinheads around the globe happy.

Considering WOZ machines hadn't been completed (or sent out), you wonder WHY JJ has moved onto developing Hobbit so quickly, other than to cash in on the movie release date.

So, did everyones WOZ deposits now become the finance to get Hobbit on the production line....now he's 2 machines behind....

I'm sure deposits for the Hobbit will next used as funding to release their 3rd title....stay tuned.
