The King of Kong on ABC 2 tonight @ 8:30pm

For any of you arcade/coin op collectors ABC are showing this movie tonight @ 8:30pm.

Billy Mitchell has held the world record for the Donkey Kong video game for over 20 years. When Steve Wiebe suddenly loses his job, he finds solace in Donkey Kong. Stumbling upon Billy's record, Steve sets out to break it.

Lol I scored 272k on donkey kong back in the day in an arcade between village and hoyts at town hall, I was still going when my mates dragged me away cause they wanted to get drunk, I was always convinced I was the world champ on dk

I really enjoy this movie to be honest  - have watched it many times.

Even my Mrs likes it and she has no interest in gaming stuff at all.

Really interesting movie, although the Billy Mitchell fanbois suggest he is nothing like the guy portrayed in the film. It's a good flick though, and maybe they morphed Billy Mitchell a little to have a villain.

Cool movie, I really enjoyed this movie... DK is a classic game, yes the movie did portray Billy Mitchell as a villain, it was good to see him actually turn up at the last venue, its a shame he never played in the live comp but.

It was great to see Steve Wiebe SMASH the high score and become the DK world champ.

Great doco. Don't think i'll venture into the Arcade side of things - can't afford to spend up to 3hours to clock a game, let along be interrupted by the wife or kids.

All the same dudes and freaks and it documents how thier lives turned out - different to the movie you just sat through but really good to see.

Great movie, I stumbled across it halfway through on pay tv a year or so ago though I've since watched it all the way through. If  you haven't  seen it I'd highly recommend it,  In fact if I'd have know it was on tonight I'd have watched it again  !
 I haven't heard of Chasing ghosts though, thanks for the info, I'll have to check it out.
