Playfield cleaning
« on: April 04, 2012, 07:31:49 PM »
Hi all, I have a DE Starwars that I'm planning on replacing all the rubbers on over Easter and at the same time I'd planned on cleaning and waxing it with Mill Wax. Only problem is I'm still waiting for the Mill Wax in the mail. So basically I'm asking what's a good substitute to the Mill Wax in the mean time?
Even if I don't get the whole playfield done I'd still like to use somthing that's safe in those hard to get areas while the plastics are off.
I have some Meguiars cleaner wax, is this suitable to use?
Cheers
Adam

Grab yourself a bottle of novus 2.  RTBB has it.

First thing is to clean - preserving is as much about getting rid of the abrasive stuff (dirt and gunk) as it is about a protective coat. I like to clean the dirt off with Novus no. 2. If you don't have that and don't have the time to wait for it, even Mr Sheen will do a decent job of cleaning, and I suspect the Meguiars cleaner wax will work pretty well too. But to finish the best is a carnuba wax (the hard stuff from a tin) like Mothers California Gold.

I've got both here (i.e Novus 2 and Millwax) you can have a lend of if it doesn't turn up tomorrow.  You don't need very much at all really to get the job done.
