"American Pickers" is quite different from "American Restorations" other than the (my) local accent. Both shows are the rare exception of TV stuff that I will actually watch.
I like the restorations show a lot. They guy does a lot of what I like to do, except a lot faster and gets money (a LOT of money) at the end for doing it. The only problem with it is the son is such a young culture slave and the son's buddy is as inarticulate as a Jerry Springer guest. Major doofus. At least they keep their snippets short enough to not be sickening.
Anyway, it's cool to see guys actually do decent quality craftsmanship for a change.
A far cry from the agonizing Chopper shows we were subjected to for so long - buy this, buy that and farm this pile out. Then once it all arrives back in the door, grind until it will kludge together with enough filler rod. Coat with paint - Tadaa! Craptacular
They really should do at least a couple episodes of a great quality pinnie restoration someday. TV execs probably just haven't heard about it yet.
