That's great, thanks so much.
I will get that arlec off ebay.
Should i find a usa plug to wire in so i plugs straight in or use an adapter as pictured.

As for safety, stay the hell away from contacts before transformer?? but I'm safe for all relays switches etc after transfer on this machine?
Also who do you recommend to buy replacement parts off, chime knockers etc. One looks black with metal shavings around it.

Thanks again, have been reading through heaps of resto's on here and learning a lot of ideas, hopefully this one doesn't turn me off and i can build on my collection!

The coin door needs to be locked when kids are around - Many EM's before 1976 had 110v at the coin door. Some early games also had 115v coils on the Bank Resets and 50v coils. All machines that rely on mains voltage are very dangerous. I have got in the habit of activating relays, switches etc with a wooden stick or my wifes plastic knitting needle.  %.%

I used the plug convertor mainly because I had the room and the 240v wiring is well covered and secure.

Hows the condition of the rest of the machine - How about some picts, What State are you in and a intro in the intro section.

How are some pictures, think i have looked over it for about 5 minutes as i havent had time.
Looks ok, couple of wires have come off score reels, relays but look to be simple to solder back on.

On the last picture there are parts missing off it,( there is a bag of a couple of bits) wondering what it is so i can research how it goes back together or if i can get a new one.

Ok next bit of help, the bag with a couple plastic levers and springs i found are off the player one score wheel and the board is missing off the second digit !!! Picture is of the board of player 4 that i need. Any ideas???

To get me out of trouble i was thinking of taking the bits off player 4 score to use on player 1 as the pinball machine wont even turn on if player 1 doesn't reset, correct? This would be a temporarily fix until i find some spares, a board and a couple of white plastic levers!

Hi and welcome to the forum. %)%

I think the board is actually part of the first digit assembly (10-90 score unit).

You can easily take these out to check/inspect. They are only clipped in at the bottom with a sprung wire.

Also pretty sure I have a complete spare one (used), if you do have trouble finding one.

Yes sorry it is the second digit, first one is fake and mounted solid.
I'm interested if you have one? It will save me swapping them around if i could get one in the next few days.

I did un bolt the whole unit before i seen the spring wire your talking about hahaha. I think i will take them all out to clean.

Yep , very good idea to take the time to overhaul all score reels , they are probably the hardest working parts of any EM pinball .
Just do one at a time so you can refer to one of the others to put it back together properly . You will find they are easy to do .
Also , pinball machines are designed to run without lubrication .. never use WD-40 etc on a pinball .
I do , however, put a light smear of Superlube on moving parts when I overhaul them .
Superlube is synthetic and designed not to attract dust and dirt .
If you get keen , pull apart each of the mechanical parts (eg slingshots etc) as well and give them a clean .
You will find the game will play faster and better if you take the time to do this .

I need more room ! and more $$$

Cleaned all reels, some would jam up at the 7-9 mark. All working really well now and look heaps better. Couple of the switches had closed up so got those all gapped right (what i think is right anyway  :D)
Also found a least one wire off each reel set so they are all soldered back on. While i was in there i noticed the "match unit" that's what its called on the wiring diagram, had a broken lever thing so i went to have a look at the "eject advance drum unit" on the play field (basically the same thing less wires) and noticed that had a couple of broken cogs too.

Is there anywhere on here to ask or look for spare parts?
I'm after a few things, a 10-90 reel (may have one sorted), Match unit (or just the metal lever and plastic bit that pushes the cog), eject advance drum unit (or just the cog) and a coil for one of the chimes.

With all that complete I'm fairly  %.% confident of firing it up

You sure its missing teeth on the cogs?? Some dont have teeth all the way round to prevent it advancing further

Well i think, it looks like there was teeth there but i could be wrong, there is only one tooth left. Maybe i wait to see when it fires up for that one

You could be right, in this picture it shows an option of just one tooth.

Not all the score reels have boards on them. Looking at picture of my "Big Deal", Player 1 has the board present for the 10's unit, 10,000's unit and 100,000's unit only. No board on 100's unit or 1,000's unit. So I don't think you are missing anything. Player 1 - Player 4 should have the same configuration.
