TEN YEARS TIME ? PRICING ?
« on: May 03, 2012, 01:19:31 PM »
In ten years time, do u think dmd machines will be the same price as they are today, pro-rata, or will they climb in value alot, or will the prices die right down.  !@# !@#

A couple things to take into consideration. Titles like Addams Family, Twilight Zone, Indianna Jones, Attack from Mars and various late model Bally/Williams, as well as alot of DMD titles have become EXTREMELY popular and have found new homes in not only collectors houses, but newbies who want one or two machines for their games rooms etc. Some of these titles are difficult to buy, some titles just dont get sold often.

My prediction is that games will be 20 percent higher or lower than they are today, pro-rata but not alot different really. Older stuff like early EM and some very early SS might drop off a little, but again, these will become easier to purchase because not so many people can fix them, and alot of people upgrade to a DMD machine.

What do u guys think will happen with prices, and will your collections keep growing and will u just make the room no matter what ?  !@# !@# !@#

your answer was very  (((

I should have also asked > ""will it be easy to buy a DMD machine in 10 years"" or will people hold onto them given the ever increasing demand for peoples gamesrooms.  !@#

Who knows what will be the ‘in thing’ in 10-20 years time

Most of us here are in the 35-50 yo age group, we grew up with pinballs around us, in fish and chip shops, milk bars and arcades. Speaking for myself, I am trying to recreate the world from when I was about 12-15 yo (but a better version of it)
Also at our age, we tend to have a better disposable income, our job has improved, maybe the kids have moved out, the house is paid off. We can now afford those things we always dreamt about

So the question is, what will be important to those who are currently 25yo?
They did not grow up with pinball, arcades had either dancing machines or redemption games. But these are the children of the Playstation and Nintendo. They will be probably paying big $$$ for the original Playstation  and original games. Games like Tomb Raider will be making huge comebacks

Pinball will be forgotten once more

I know it is unpopular to say so, but I think WOZ will be so sh*t that it will create more demand for 90's DMD machines. Sorry just IMO &^&

thats fine Mick, opinions make forums work.  ^^^
I think also Pete, that alot of teenagers who are now growing up with pinballs in mums n dads gamesrooms will cherish those machines as their holy grails 20 yrs down the track.

Or even in ten years when they have moved out of home, they might ask mum n dad if they can take that favourite pinball machine with them.

In a way, pinballs are like modern day tattoo's, everyone is getting them !

Thats not to say at all that JJP can’t make good games. I just think the theme is so sh*t it would have to do something amazing to make me forget that it’s the F*cking wizard of oz.

I'm with Pete, so many pinball machines have been brought into Australia that we probably have more pins per member of population than any other country. Majority of kids don't care for them, so when us oldies start downsizing and off loading, I predict most will plummet in price. Big falls.

 *%* Good one Cavey.

I recently celebrated my 30th. Had a doo at my place and when guests saw the partial man cave it brought plenty of smiles to peoples faces. Games rooms are starting to become a bit like when home theatres were the new trend, but you need the boss's permission first  &&

With such big drps in mind, an ACDC pin will be worth say $1000. So I offer $1500 for anyone who wants to sell at higher price now  ()

excellent.lol  %.% %.% %.%

I will also offer anyone $1000 for a minty Twilight Zone in anticipation of Julia Gillards new Carbon TAX which will help to fark the country n economy even more.
Seriously though, maybe DMD machines will be rarer in 10 yrs because every one has them and doesnt want to part with them unless they have to for financial reasons.
Maybe I could pickup a Woz in 10 yrs cheap (like Pin2000) but I will have to upgrade the monitor and get Nucore Version 2022 (year).lol  !@#
