WILLIAMS STAR POOL REBUILD
« on: March 03, 2009, 08:19:58 PM »
Hey All
Weather is to crap to work out in the shed so i thought id add another restore thread.
This pinball was the first one i ever won off Mark C  i needed another fix but couldnt afford to buy it for myself so to get my pinball fix i asked a friend who had nagged for ages for me to get him a pinball machine. ( Not ideal but i got to fix another pinball)

Here are some pics as it arrived

Yeah your right it was a good starting point im really spewing it wasnt a keeper. But i can use it whenever i want so i guess thats something (Plus most of the machines i sell i get first option if they want to sell)

Then it got waxed Cant tell to much different in the pics.  Ive left out stages to save boredom I take a full set of pics at the beggining, Without plastics, Fully stripped, Air blown, Wiped, Novus, waxed, re globed, re intstalled polished post and new rubbers then finished. Each pinball gets a cd with all these photos incase the new owners give a shit how much work goes into them. ( Bet they never even looked)

Usually by this stage ive taken in all the wire forms, posts and plastics and washed and polished them.  My son thought it would be funny to get a photo of me cleaning the posts coz i usually get him to do it.

Then the new globes and rubbers are installed. Dodgy globe sockets are either repaired or replaced as needed.  I dont know if anyone else does this but i keep forgetting to was my hands before putting on the new rubbers and i end up with dirty spots that i have to clean ggrrrrrrrrrr  i hate that

Here is the finished machine.
I dont respray cabinets unless they are non original or absolutely stuffed dont know why but i love the i love suzzie etc scratched into them for some reason. On all my machines i strip, clean and lube all stepper units and score reels clear coat backglasses if needed all globes are replaced with #47 to cut back on heat to try stop any more damage to the machines.
