Hey guys
My names David and I'm from Melbourne and I'm mainly into arcade games but have recently been itching to get into some pins (been playing a lot on my lunch breaks at the local time zone!). Grew up playing mainly on a family friends machine that for the life of me I can't remember the name of (it was themed with card suits, hearts, queens etc) but I stopped playing when I got older. Recently got back into MAME as well and just finished completing my mame lowboy and now I'm saving up to buy a pin and maybe build a virtual pin too (have some spare sheets of mdf and some pc gear so may as well).

back in the days of EM (Electro-mechanical) machines, poker was a theme that appeared on more than one game

My personal favorite, Card Whiz, a Gottlieb EM from 1976

Welcome to Aussie Pinball David!

There are quite a few card themed games, you can help us narrow it down a little - was it electro mechanical, or solid state?

In the meantime, here's an assortment of card themed games - click through to each game and you might be able to find it. This is exactly how I found a game (card themed by coincidence) for a mate - he told me about the game he used to play, and we went through. Based on when he played it in the arcade, we knew it was between 1976-1980, and eventually found it to be Joker Poker - he has had my second Joker Poker now for about five years - doubt I'll even get that one back!

Thanks guys the playfield for royal flush and card whizz look familar, it definitely had some drop card at the top but the back glasses don't look right, iirc the backglass had some suits and a futuristic woman on roller blades or something. Now it's going to annoy me trying to think of the game. Doubt I'll find it. That site is awesome for browsing pins pinnie4me thanks.

No problem, just keep looking, you will no doubt find it. As for playfields looking familiar, lots of manufacturers "recycled" older layouts.

Really good game, very similar to my favorite EM King Pin. A few around for sale from time to time.
