Gottlieb System 80B back glass locking bar
« on: October 28, 2012, 09:17:58 AM »
Does anyone have the metal bar that is in the back box of Gottlieb System 80B games that operates from the back box key and locks the spear panel shut and therefore locking the back glass.  This is games that had the hinged speaker panel at top of back box like Big House, Cactus Jacks etc.

Mine is missing, thanks Dean

I have a Gold Wings but I think it is different, it only has a basic lock and latch

I have 4 sys80b games,
Raven, Victory, tx sector and bone busters.

Not sure if any of them have the same part,

Okay I checked my TX-Sector manual and my 1986-1992 Gottlieb parts catalogue and there is no reference to the locking bar.

In the parts manual and the respective game manual, it only signifys the headbox as a whole with the individual translite, speaker panel as having unique part numbers. Nothing to the degree of what is missing from your Big House machine. The 'cabinet assembly' of which I presume the part in question was in attached to, was the only thing mentioned.

Best thing would be to email Steve at PBR or find another machine with similar locking properties and fabricate something from there.

I'll take some photos of the TX on the weekend,
You can then see if it looks similar

(also some pics of a coil in Raven, for another member)
Should get to it some time Sat.

TX sector does not seem to be the same design as you are looking for.

No lock bar, or hinge assy.
