UPDATE

I went and saw the Star Trek movie tonight with family, and we all enjoyed it.  ^^^
They certainly spent some money making this movie, that's for sure !
Should make for a great STERN Pinball when Steve Ritchie releases his usual masterpiece.
The movie made me enjoy my current Star Trek 25th pinnys also.

I am expecting cool toys with maybe the usual Star Trek shuttlecraft and the huge Star Trek NC01 Starship etc etc.
I am also expecting some excellent DMD graphics, some cool missiles on the playfield for toys, laser guns, tribbles,
Klingons and all the stuff that makes you go WOW !

Go watch the movie if you are a blatant or closet Trekky ! You should enjoy it.

Hey, I changed my Avatar picture. Do some of you like me more now that I have a huge set of T##$.

We went to see new Star Trek last night as well. Much better effects than the old "running side to side on the set" tricks!

DO NOT get home and put on "wrath of Khan" as a link as we did (the young one appears in new film). That old movie is sooo dated now. Just have to laugh watching it. What sort of bad guy wears an open cardigan over his latex chest anyway?

Good movie, I enjoyed it. I was never into any of the earlier trek incarnations, tv show, film or otherwise but this is good fun.

Three Versions:
Enterprise Edition (LE)
Premium
Pro

Notable PF Features:
-3 Ramps: Combination of plastic and wireform
-various standups on sides of ramps
-3 Flippers: Upper Right flipper shoots Warp ramp and "light lock" standups
-Warp ramp goes behind PF backboard and appears to reenter at the top of the right ramp
-Kickback on left outlane, presumably lit by "shield" standups on left
-Away Team shot behind upper flipper a la spiderman
-Shooter lane access from playfield behind the Away Team shot
-Pops and rollovers upper right
-One orbit w/ spinner
-4 toys: Two asteroids, The Enterprise, The Dreadnaught as main feature.
-Magnet behind center drop target
-6 Missions, 18 Mini Missions: 6 missions form a triangle on the PF, completing one side earns you the "Captains Chair"
-FIRE! button on Lockdown bar
-VUK on left side dead end shot ONTO the Warp ramp (PREM/LE only?)

PRO VS PREMIUM (see 1:02 in video)
-No asteroids on Pro
-Plastic Ramps on Pro. Left side ramp(s) are heavily altered on pro, right side unknown
-No VUK on Pro?

LE Features
-Custom Speaker Panel
-Custom Siderails

Dreadnaught functionality not fully known. Front may open, entire ship may move, perhaps only on Prem/LE?

utoplay=1&rel=0

photos are screen shots from the video - this is the LE and then there is a pro very quickly displayed which is red

some art guys stitched some images together to give the final 3 versions as well as a playfield stitch (LE and quite possible the Premium as Pro has plastic ramps)

The red is the premium not a pro

the layout looks good, really like the wireforms, art is so so, but not a fan of the speaker panel and noticed the backbox design for all the models is the same as the Avengers LE which I think is more of a cost cutter

as for price for us in Aus based on Metallica I think these will be selling around
Pro's went up to $6950
Premium went up to $8950
Le's not stated but sure will be around $9950

man that hurts for future pin sales and purchases, even the AC/DC Pro has gone up $1000 since the origin release to $6950. For other pins thats a $600 increase this year which is a bit rich from $6350 to $6950.

Looks very much the same as STTNG, is there no originality in design anymore? Starting price of 7k for a pro bnib is a blatant cash grab from our aussie distributor.
But hey it's a new stern so jump on the hype train and buy a LE or 3....15k by xmas!!!

Considering sellers are struggling to offload most 2nd hand huo stern pros for 4k plus it makes buying a bnib stern pro in this country a waste of time and $$$.

I think it looks great!
The premium looks the best, bit too much blue on the others I reckon.
Pins: The Getaway, TotAN, WH2O, Pinball Magic, Banzai Run, Flintstones, Judge Dredd, Lord of the Rings LE, Metallica LE, Iron Man VE, The Walking Dead LE, Star Trek The Next Generation.

Not a fan of the speaker panel either, no artwork on it & looks cheap...

It will be a tough sell for AMD with the new increased pricing structure  *%*

My wallet is not prepared to go into warp. May the force be with someone else.

$6950 plus freight for a stock pro model and $10000 plus for an LE  !@#
NIB don't represent any value. I won't be buying another new pinball. Prices will continue to rise as long as pinheads keep forking over the cash.

a European guy just found out off a distributor in Europe the following

pricing is a stunning EUR 8850,- equals approx USD 11.300,-. This is with 19% VAT and is approx USD 1200 more expensive as METLE was in NL. Unbelievable price-increase

rumour is Aus LE price is $10500....

be interesting to see how sales go, definitely one way to make pins rare, Stern aren't helping themselves nor their future
