Great work Adam. When attaching the braid wire to the holder, did you scratch/scuff up the holder a little so the solder would take more easily on the holder? This is what I'm thinking of doing. I have found removing a bit of the plating enables the solder to take better. If its not necessary let me know so I can bypass this step for my spacies job. Thanks mate

Btw the aluminium standoffs or whatever the are called have come up fantastic

You'll find the solder will take up into the little hole on the lugs so no need to scuff them up at all. It's really very easy if your soldering while the the item is flat, the degree of difficultly increases once you start soldering items in the vertical position or close to it so I'd recommend where possible you do as much of the soldering on the flat as you can.
 Yes, I was happy that I decided to go with the aluminium for the shrouds. I think they come up pretty neat too.
