Also any ideas on what this is or how to remove it?  Ive tried using Zippo fluid and novus but doesnt want to budge its where the mylar used to be so i'm thinking its glue from the mylar that has gone yellow?

Came up sweet mate!

Looks like the paint has either a residue or the paint has reacted to the glue on the mylar?

Have never seen that before!

Still looks heaps better than what it did  *%*

Did these machines have any clear on them at all?

I was reading on one of the 'masters' resto pages (the E.K), where the clear yellowed over the years?

I've only ever used shellite or goo-gone to remove the glue.  I would be a bit too scared to use goo-gone on yours...

Goo-gone will work well if it is a sticky mess (no pun intended  *%*)

Is the yellow tacky or smooth?

I used methylmethacrylate monomer on mine which I reckon will remove that for you real easy, doesn't effect the paint either.

As I use it for work, I can send you 50ml if you like?

cheers
