Playboy cabinet restoration.
« on: December 19, 2013, 09:28:49 AM »

Hi all, I am almost ready to start restoring my playboy cabinet. The cabinet has some large chunks out of it and the lower edge ply is split in places.
Can anyone advise the best product to use for filling the cabinet imperfections?  !@#

 Thanks Paul

You can replace the entire section if you are willing to chisel out the rest of the "lip" that sits under the bottom board. Bunnings sell 8mm x 8mm strips which are the perfect size. You can glue them in place and then use small nails to help support the bottom board. From smaller areas, try what Rob suggests or use Builder's Bog or similar.

I used this builders filler from Bunnings. Not the cheapest they had but it sanded easily after 20 mins and bended well under the paint.

+1 my favorite filler too.
